The North Lawrence Park Ravine is the entrance to one of Toronto's longest Discovery Walks, the home of the G.H. Locke Library and the location of Lawrence Park's only children's playground.
Our goal ~ first and foremost ~ is to work with Councillor Robinson and the TRCA (Toronto Region Conservation Authority) to solve the "water" problem we have in the North Ravine. Once that's done we will work with the City and the Community to replace the existing playground and select new and exciting play structures that are vibrant, interactive, safe and fun! While we are planning this new play area our goal is to go one step further and create an outdoor space that will be a welcome spot for people of all ages ~ whether it's to peruse a book, have a picnic, or meet with friends. We have more ideas for the North Ravine but before we say too much we'd like to hear from you!
The South Lawrence Park Ravine is where many community activities take place. Whether it's morning yoga, afternoon frisbee, playing fetch with Fido, or tobogganing down the hill on a wintery day! Situated South of Lympstone Avenue and North of Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens the South Ravine is a natural sanctuary away from city life.
Our goal is to maintain the special look and feel of the South Ravine while we add easy path access and walkways, park benches, pergolas, gardens, trees and shrubs. We have a few more plans, but before we say anything, again, we'd like to hear your ideas too!
